You asked me why I was sad
How could I put it into words
For you
Right there, in the corridor of your school
Your eyes searching
The answer
I could hardly speak aloud
Not even
In my most private thoughts

A few weeks passed
The question still rings out
hanging
around

Salt gathers now
at the creases of my eye
Because once I say it
the webbed floor upon which I am wriggling
Stuck
will tear apart
The fissure
A gaping blackhole of unknowns
Beneath me
Waiting..

Running in the grass
You have forgotten
All about the sad face sticker
That I quietly placed
On the feelings wall
Your loving arms
Rush to me
Cheeks flushed
Laugh sparkling

Blanketed by your love
Your simple acceptance
I feel my strength
gathering
Close now
I think
Soon
I will answer

Thank you for reading. ❤
